Välkomna
Vi tänker bygga vidare på den erfarenhet som vi fick av förra årets möte i Oslo. Vi vill därför försöka åstadkomma ett möte som präglas av samtal, erfarenhetsutbyte och nätverkande mellan den högsta ledningen i respektive lands hälso- och socialförvaltning.
Mötet kommer att äga rum på Grand Hotel i Reykjavik där det också finns mjölighet att bo. Det kommer att finnas ett alternativt hotel för boende om man föredrar det.

Programmet är nu klart och vi ber er notera att de olika länderna har tilldelats uppgift att inleda varje programpunkt. Det är bra att dessa presentationer inte överstiger 10 – 15 min så att vi har tid för diskussioner.

För att sätta mötet i ett perspektiv vill vi som förra året inleda mötet med en kort (10 min) presentation från varje land om följande frågaställning:
– Vilka betydelsefulla förändringar sker i landets hälso- och socialsystem?
– Hur påverkar dessa förändringar arbetet i respektive lands hälso- och socialdirektorat?
Vi inleder med samtal om dessa presentationer på morgonen den 25 augusti. Det är av intresse att ta del av de största utmaningarna för respektive land inom dessa två områden och hur det påverkar våra organisationer.

Inlämning av sammanfattningar
Vi önskar att ni skickar en sammanfattning på max 1-2 sidor till Erla Björgvinsdottir (erla[at]landlaeknir.is) senast den 4 augusti. Sammanfattningen kommer att publiceras i programhäftet. Om ni vill använda power-point presentation ombedes ni skicka den till Erla Björgvinsdottir (erla[at]landlaeknir.is) senast den 20 augusti 2016 så att vi kan samla presentationerna i programfoldern.

Reception and a light dinner
Time: 18:30 p.m.
You are invited to a reception at the Directorate of Health on Wednesday on 24 August. At the recetion we will offer some light refreshments. Please let us know if you are going to attend the reception at the Directorate of Health by e-mail to erla@landlaeknir.is.

Founded in 1760, the Directorate of Health is one of oldest institutions in Iceland with a history of 255 years. The building that houses its offices at present, at Barónsstígur 47 in Reykjavík, was built in the years 1949–1955 as the Reykjavik Municipal Centre for Health Protection. It was created by the architects Einar Sveinsson, municipal architect, and Gunnar H. Ólafsson, and is one of the most significant official buildings of the nineteen-fifties in Reykjavik as well as being among the most original ones from an architectural point of view.

Guided tour of Harpa
Time: 18:30 to 19:15 p.m.
A guided tour around Harpa, where you experience Harpa concert hall from behind the scenes. The guides at Harpa tell you everything about its design, the unique glass facade designed by the Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson, and all the rest that makes Harpa concert hall the striking piece of architecture that it is. You come to the top floor reception room, Björtuloft (Bright Lofts), with its panorama view of the city and you visit all the different halls of Harpa. The tour ends in Eldborg, the largest of the concert halls, where you are informed about the technology, acoustics and magic of the place. There is a long story behind the idea and building of Harpa and it is a witness to the enthusiasm of idealists and music lovers who for many decades never wavered in their belief in the project.

Dinner at restaurant Kolabrautin in Harpa
Time: 19:30 to 22:30 p.m.
The Director of Health welcomes you to a dinner at the restaurant Kolabrautin at Harpa. Kolabrautin is a modern restaurant where the exquisite selection of Icelandic ingredients blends with the best of Mediterranean culinary traditions.

A number of rooms in different categories have been pre-booked for participants, since Reykjavik could be quite crowded during the meeting period. To secure the accommodation of your choice, we recommend that you submit your registration with hotel booking as early as possible.

Full hotel payment is required upon booking, but individual accommodation bookings will be refunded, if cancellations are made no less than 48 hours before the arrival date (working days). All hotel reservations, especially after 1 June 2016, will be subject to availability.

There will be no organised bus transport provided to and from the congress venue, but you can see the hotel location on the hotel map here. Hotels can be booked through the registration link.

Useful information
Breakfast and all taxes are included in all prices. Breakfast is served between 07:00 to 10.00 hrs every morning. All hotels have a 24 hours lobby service. The check-in and check-out times at hotels are mostly as follows: Check-in time from 14:00 hrs and check–out time from 11:00 hrs. However, please note that this can vary from one hotel to another.
